Etching Hill located in Staffordshire on the edge of Cannock Chase it is famous for it’s views and sandstone outcrop.


The hill is situated within the Cannock Chase area of outstanding Natural Beauty (A.O.N.B.) It is a Sandstone outcrop, lying to the East of Cannock Chase heathlands. Historically, the site formed part of these heathlands. Today the heath vegetation is restricted to the lower slopes of the hill.


The mount is 454ft above sea level with good views of the Chase and surrounding area.


The hill is managed by a Charitable Trust. They are supported by D.E.F.R.A., The Cannock Chase A.O.N.B. Sustainable Development Fund, The Countryside Agency and Friends of Etching Hill.


Please help us to keep the hill clean, tidy and safe for children to play.

There have been a number of anti social behavior incidents on the hill recently.

Members of the public are being asked to ring the police if they know of anything going on.

The police can be contacted by ringing 101.
